Being the peak Association for 90 years, the HBIA takes pride in being the consultative body for the hairdressing and beauty industry to both the State and Federal Governments and various Training Boards. We also participate in Industrial Relations, Employee Relations and other Government Tribunals. We influence the legislation that influences you. Importantly, we have first-hand industry experience and truly understand the needs of the salon owner.
The HBIA takes a pivotal role in dealing with Training Providers, Product Companies, Salon Operators, Government Bodies and the Union. This ensures that the best interests of the industry are kept at the forefront of all negotiations. Your industry Association offers a myriad of products and services including seminar and workshops on the key industry issues whether it is changes to training, employment matters or the latest trends in information technology.
As of December 2018 HBIA has aligned with the Australian Retail Association (ARA). These means that HBIA members will now be able to access the benefits and services available to ARA members at no extra cost. This includes the ARA Employment Relations Management System (ERMS) which is a one stop shop for small business in regards to their employment relations needs. In the ERMS you will be able to find over 100 templates, contracts and agreements anything you could ever need when employing staff and running a small business. It is super easy to utilise however we do recommend participating in one of the online training sessions available to ensure you are using the system to its full potential.
The ARA have in excess of 7000 members which enables access to many more savings and opportunities for more effective lobbying with Government on matters that really matter to industry. Members will be able to access discounts on eftpos rates, tenancy advice training and much more as well as receiving regular updates including information from the ARA on what other products and services are on offer at any given time.
The 1300 number remains the same where you can be sure of getting your calls answered promptly and efficiently. We know that members will greatly benefit from this new arrangement and look forward to working with industry on continuing to improve the service offering.
